Melinda Roth, MSN, APRN-FPA, FNP-BC, PMHNP-BC

Melinda Roth is a dually board-certified Family Nurse Practitioner and Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner. She has more than 20 years of experience in health care, with the majority of those years working in psychiatry. 

 

Melinda has experience working in multiple settings with a variety of populations and diagnoses. Her areas of focus include Mood Disorders, Anxiety Disorders, Trauma Related Disorders, ADHD, and working with tribal health clinics. 

 

Melinda finds it important to get to know her patients and form a connection with them. By providing care for her patients in the way she would care for a friend or family member, she strives to help her patients to feel heard and understood. Her patients and colleagues describe her as compassionate, open, engaging, thoughtful, and helpful. Melinda uses a shared decision-making approach with her patients to develop a personalized and evidence-based plan of care. 

 

Melinda is the founder and director of Connection Psychiatry. She also serves as an assistant professor at Illinois State University, where she developed a new Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner program.

 

Melinda grew up in the Midwest. She enjoys traveling with her family and loves to visit National Parks. In her spare time, she enjoys time with her family, spending time outside, reading, and gardening. Melinda is passionate about de-stigmatizing mental illness and improving access to mental health care.
